Beyond the Standard Headshot

A creative portrait should do more than just show what you look like. It should capture a sense of your energy and how you come across in person.

Moving away from flat, "passport-style" lighting, I focus on cinematic depth and intentional compositions. Whether we are using dramatic studio light or soft, natural setups, the goal is the same: to create a striking image that stands out and truly captures the viewer's attention.

How we work

The Creative Process

01

Booking Your Time

A £50 session fee reserves your time in the studio. To give you total peace of mind, this is fully credited toward any images you choose to keep.

02

Exploring Your Range

We'll spend up to two hours experimenting with different lighting, wardrobe, and mood. This is where we find the portraits that truly capture your range.

03

An Honest Result

You only ever purchase the portraits you love. If the results don't resonate with you, I'll refund your deposit immediately. There's no pressure and no risk.

The Studio Briefing

01

Preparing for the Day

Great portraits are built on good preparation. You'll receive my Session Prep Guide as soon as you book, which covers everything from wardrobe textures to layering. During the shoot, we work live-tethered, which means you can see the images on a screen as they're taken. This allows us to refine your look together in real-time.

02

Active Direction

Most people feel a little awkward in front of a lens, and that's exactly where I come in. My process is built on professional direction. We don't use stiff, static posing; instead, we work through subtle movements and lighting adjustments to find the version of you that feels the most natural and authentic.

03

Showing Your Range

The two-hour session is a relaxed space for us to experiment. We can transition from soft, natural light for a commercial look to high-contrast shadows for a more cinematic feel. You'll leave with a diverse portfolio that covers the full range of your professional and creative life.
